Sorry guys, forgot to do my usual apocalypse update, so here it is for both days. Yesterday- more of the same. Today- there is no rain, it's horrible, all day it was really hot and then there was no rain... now I'm going to have to water my plants myself... now that's very close to the end of the world as far as I see it.

Joy, Abstract Painting.

Just finished this abstract painting today. This is a small one, 5x7 inches done in watercolor and ink. I wanted to do a few small paintings for giveaways and post cards, so I did this one. Thought it would be a quick painting I can do in a couple of hours, turned out I forgot how long those lines take. Well, no matter. I got one done so far and will make it into a post card. I would normally sell the original of this size for $30, but I'll be giving it away for free. Haven't figured out the time and what people need to do to enter into this giveaway yet, but I'll be posting it soon, so stay tuned.

I'm thinking about starting a youtube channel where I'll be talking about my art as well as about other artists, so I was thinking about giving away this painting to celebrate. What do you think? Anyone who subscribes to my future channel can enter and once the first video gets 100 views this painting goes to the winner? Should I throw in a few more gifts for say 2nd and 3rd places?

Pure Joy from Underwater Collection

Finally I got around to posting the third piece (Inner Peace  and Fire of Passion are the first two) from the underwater collection. Pure Joy is done in color ink and watercolor. I first colored the background with watercolor and than inked over it. The joy this woman is feeling is not tainted by and negative undertone, it’s not a joy over someone’s mishap, or victory over a foe, this joy is all about the great things that happen all around. I demonstrated this pure and warm feeling by having red hair and lips. I often see people who smile out of politeness, you can easily spot such smiles by looking into person’s eye. The lips are smiling, but the eyes reflect the true feeling. In this drawing I made irises red as well to show that this joy comes from the heart rather than pretense.

I am almost done with the next piece from this collection, it will be sadness. Just have to finish doing the shadow on it. Don't know what I'll do for the fifth and last of this collection, anger perhaps.

    Original  $100

   8.5x11 print $20
